Embodied Faith

A Health and Wellbeing Ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Starting August 5, 2019
Wednesdays  7:30 pm

As Mark 12:29-31 reminds us, we are called to love, but we are also called to love with the totality of our being; with our heart, our soul, our mind and our strength, loving both God, our neigbhor, and self.  To encourage this whole-body immersion into the practice of loving with the whole self Embodied Faith was born.

Embodied Faith was crafted by Rev. Nicole Martin, as a spiritual practice of "Ora et Labora" which means "pray and work".  Participants will engaging in meditation practices of deep breathing, scriptural reflections, and movement of the body to pray with the whole self.  Some of the elements of movement may be familiar as the instructor incorpates Laughter Yoga and Tai Chi, helping us focus on core stablity, balance, and strength, as well as giving us the opportunity to move in mindful ways with prayer and thanksgiving to God.

Come take a moment to center yourself in the midst of a busy world.
